Educators, parent groups, nonprofits, schools, camps, & communities

Three stick figure children drawn in chalk wait in line patiently while a fourth does a goofy handstand.

We know what it’s like.

We are educators. We know you want your classrooms, programs, and communities to be fun, to plan impactful activities everyone enjoys, and to make children feel safe and welcome. But it gets complicated. It’s not always easy to know how to help or include children with unexpected, disruptive, or aggressive behaviours, or to know what to do when they have a hard time. How can educators navigate these issues and support individual struggling children, while also juggling the whole group’s needs?

The Huddle for Families can help you better understand, support, and integrate a wider range of children and their families.

The Huddle for Families has years of classroom and education experience AND lived experience caring for or being children who struggle. So, our workshops are full of informed, practical advice that understands real life in the classroom, on the playground, or at the playdate.

Our workshops are designed for your needs. We differentiate programs based on context and developmental level, always with respect for participants’ expertise, personal backgrounds, and management styles. Through it all, we offer practical inclusion strategies grounded in developmental and educational expertise, personal experience, and the understanding that supporting children has diverse cultural foundations and takes place in the context of busy, complex environments and lives.

Past topics include:

  • Building Inclusive School Communities (for parents & communities)

  • Planning for and Responding to Challenging Behaviours (for staff & volunteers)

  • Inclusive Workshops & School Visits (for other programs that serve children)
